I completed my undergraduate studies at the Department of Archaeology of the University of Ljubljana and an MSc in Osteology and Funerary Archaeology at Leiden University. Currently I am a joint PhD candidate at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and Université Libre de Bruxelles. I started my PhD as a member of the CRUMBEL project (Cremations, Urns and Mobility, ancient population dynamics in BELgium).
After the first year on the project I obtained an individual 4-year FWO PhD fellowship for my project entitle The People Behind the Ashes. My research focuses on sex estimation of burnt human remains from forensic and archaeological contexts, using multiple approaches including osteology, machine learning, CT scanning and isotope analyses.
